My name is Jennie Morrison and I am a student of oral history, social worker, and youth development professional. I am curious about how listening can create social change and foster more just and caring spaces. Prior to my oral history studies, I worked with children and families in public school settings in Seattle and New York City.

Based on these experiences, I quickly realized that the pandemic would have a profound impact on school communities, including learners, families, and educators. Over the past 10 months, I have viewed these shifts from the perspectives of Education Narrative Project’s cohort of educator narrators, who have generously shared their stories of loss, hope, disappointment, resilience, advocacy, and solidarity. These interviews challenge listeners, including myself, to hold multiple truths, sit with discomfort, and reimagine educational spaces. I hope that this curated audio might begin to share facets of this collective wisdom and learning.
