Phase 1 of the Education Narratives Project documents the initial closing of schools in Spring 2020 and end of the 2019-2020 school year. The interviews in this period were marked by themes of fear and uncertainty, lack of public health guidance and policy, educators’ feelings of abandonment and invisibility, rupture within school communities, and enduring trauma.

All audio is recorded via Zoom between June and September 2020. The five narrators in this specific piece include teachers and school directors.
